All Things Mold

Mold has been on Earth for millions of years and there is always some mild around.

Mold can cause mild to serious health issues such as a sore throat, coughing, burning eyes, a skin rash all the way through to infections in the lungs for immune-compromised people.

Mold can get in your home through open doors, windows, vents and hearing and air conditioning systems.

Mold in the air can even be brought indoors on clothing, shoes, bags, or your pets.

Mold grows where there is a build up of moisture, around leaks in the roof, windows and pipes. It can grow on paper, cardboard, ceiling tiles, wood, drywall, carpet, fabric and wallpaper to name a few.

Tips To Preventing Mold

• Keep the humidity to as low as possible. Ideally under 50%. Using an air conditioner or dehumidifier can help.

• Make sure air in your hold flows freely. Using exhaust fans and leaving windows open can assist with this.

• Fix any leaks in your homes roof, walls and plumbing.

• Add Mold inhibitors to paints.

• Clean bathrooms with mild killing properties such as Exit Mold.

Cleaning Mold

Mold can be cleaned with a bleach solution such as Exit Mold with soap and water. Remember to always use the correct PPE when using bleach products.
